The Big Banks Own Twitter, Not Jack Dorsey

If you asked the average person who the owner of twitter is, most people would probably give you the same answer: Jack Dorsey.

This is actually completely and utterly untrue.

In order to qualify as a beneficial owner of a publicly traded company, you need to hold more than 5% of the outstanding capital stock, and Jack Dorsey only owns 2.3%

So who does owns twitter then?

Well, you might be surprised to find out that it is actually the big banks and investment funds.

Seems like that’s kind of a conflict of interest though, right? Well yes, but until we can find someone else who has the money to invest in this massive tech corporation, unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about this right now.

Haven’t you wondered why you get less upvotes and comments on twitter compared to the other big social media platforms? The answer to this question should be obvious: you are simply not profitable for them.

Think about it, why would they allow your peers to see your tweets when they can just promote products for which the owners have a financial interest.

Starting to make sense now? Showing people your tweets is just a waste of time for them unfortunately, and as the saying goes, time is money.

Now, considering all this, does Twitter seem like a sustainable business model to you? Probably not right?

Until the next time everyone, stay profitable.
